The presenter is one of the authors of this paper that will be presented at conference this year. Once the conference, journal, and authors agree with this being presented to DAMA-Vancouver we will be able to provide more information like Speaker, abstract, etc. In the meantime, this is a bit of background on Rawlsian Agents:

"computational entities designed using John Rawls' principles of justice, particularly the "veil of ignorance," to make fair decisions, often in AI/multi-agent systems for legal contracts or social norms, prioritizing fairness and the well-being of the least advantaged by abstracting from self-interest to ensure equitable societal structures. They embody Rawls' idea of "rational" agents who, behind the veil, choose principles (like equal liberty and the difference principle) that benefit everyone, leading to fairer AI-driven agreements and ethical norm-learning in simulations."

In essence, Rawlsian Agents are a paradigm for building AI systems that embody fairness by adopting a perspective of impartiality, ensuring that their decisions and the systems they create uphold justice for everyone, especially the most vulnerable.
