Following the success of our first session, we’re excited to invite our current premium members to the second meeting of the Data Governance SIG on Friday November 21st at 12:00pm - 1:30pm. We are excited to have Sarah Marshall, Director of Data & Information Governance, and Adam Coladipietro, Senior Manager, Data Governance, of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) as our presenters. They will take us behind the scenes of BCLC's multi-year journey to operationalize Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality across the organization.

Tales from the trenches from BCLC
In this session, we’ll take you behind the scenes of BCLC’s multi-year journey to operationalize Data Governance, Data Management, and Data Quality across the organization. With implementation nearing completion, we’ll share real-world stories from the trenches highlighting how we brought our program to life by establishing a scalable governance model, including steward roles & ownership clarity, and prioritized governance elements like cataloging and data quality. You’ll hear lessons learned from our first data domain implementation, activating 50+ data stewards across BCLC, our rollout of an enterprise Data Literacy program and much more. Finally, we’ll preview what’s next on our roadmap, including dashboard certification, expanding governance across our data landscape and enabling self-serve BI for BCLC.
Sarah Marshall is the Director of Data & Information Governance for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). She leads the implementation of BCLC's enterprise data vision and strategy, helping the organization manage data as a strategic asset. With experience spanning customer-facing positions, back-office operations, and IT, Sarah brings a holistic perspective to data governance. She is passionate about building data literacy and a robust data culture to enable smarter, insight-driven decisions. Outside work, she enjoys cooking, exercising on Peloton bikes, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
Adam Coladipietro is the Senior Manager, Data Governance for the BCLC. Adam has led a data-driven life since childhood - when he first started negotiating over Lego and Halloween candy with his brothers. With more than 15 years of experience transforming unruly datasets into business value, Adam now leads the data governance program at BCLC, where he's built a framework that's as robust as it is respected. A graduate of the Caruthers & Jackson Chief Data Office School and a certified Change Management Practitioner, Adam blends sharp insight, wit, and passion to make data governance engaging, relatable, and impactful.
